GUIDE to REPAIRING YOUR damaged HAIR
Ladies and Gentlemen - we all like to abuse our hair with heat and colouring, right? The problem is we then wake up one day and look in the mirror to find dry, damaged hair that is simply embarrassing to wear. Having repaired, strong hair is the goal for everyone who loves to experiment with their locks. Adding our keratin formula Deep Repair Treatment to your hair routine twice a week can help improve the condition of your hair by up to 75%. Whilst your hair is on the road to recovery, here’s a few things to remember.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONDITIONER + DEEP REPAIR TREATMENTS?
You’ve probably read in articles or heard from friends that “leaving your conditioner on longer” will help repair your hair. But sadly, this is will never work. The reason there are conditioners and deep repair treatments on the market is because they do two different jobs. Conditioners work on the surface of the hair (cuticles) locking in all colour, moisture and proteins. They can also make your hair soft and shiny. Conditioners are generally designed for daily use. Deep repair treatments are a strong product that works in the centre of the hair (cortex). Their job is to repair the structure of your hair, reducing breakage and split ends. Deep repair treatments can also boost shine and suppleness. These products are designed to be used twice weekly, but if you have severely damaged, bleached hair you may need to use the deep repair treatment daily for the first few weeks.
HOW DO I USE A DEEP REPAIR TREATMENT?
Deep repair treatments are best used after your shampooing is done, when your hair is nice and clean. Squeeze the excess water from your hair and apply a liberal amount from your mid-lengths (level with your ears) to your ends, making sure this part of your hair is completely covered with the product. Once the deep repair treatment is on, leave for 20 minutes and wait for the magic to happen. Once 20 minutes have passed, rinse the deep repair treatment off with cool water - to help stop the hair cortex from being disturbed.
TIP: Don’t rough dry your hair with a towel. Instead, fold the towel around your hair and squeeze with light pressure.
HOW LONG DOES A TUB OF COLOURWAY DEEP REPAIR TREATMENT LAST?
Our large size tub (428g) should last you 4-6 months, depending on hair length and thickness. Remember, if you are going to continue highlighting, colouring or bleaching your hair, make sure your hair routine always includes a deep repair treatment. Keeping your damaged hair strong takes investment.
